examines access to sexuality education and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for young people in higher and tertiary institutions in Uganda. It highlights existing gaps, challenges, and opportunities in delivering comprehensive sexuality education and youth-friendly health services within academic institutions.

Abstract

The report focuses on the status of sexuality education and access to sexual and reproductive health services among students in universities and tertiary institutions in Uganda. It explores barriers such as stigma, cultural beliefs, limited institutional policies, inadequate youth-friendly services, and lack of trained personnel. The document emphasizes the importance of comprehensive sexuality education in empowering young people with accurate information to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. It further recommends strengthening institutional frameworks, improving service delivery, and integrating SRH education into higher learning systems to promote healthier youth populations and reduce risks such as unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
